With limited resources it is important that investigations are focused to make best use of the resources available and to ensure that each case is thoroughly investigated and proper consideration given to recommending closure or sanction. Therefore, R & B Solutions will:
- Ensure that investigations pursue all appropriate lines of enquiry, all potential information sources considered, appropriate investigation techniques applied and all potential witnesses interviewed and statements obtained.
- Ensure that a Code of Conduct for Investigators is developed and operated.
- Ensure investigations are undertaken in line with appropriate laws, legislation and policies.
- Ensure investigations are fully recorded and retained accordingly.
- Ensure counter-fraud files contain appropriate correspondence, investigation documents, evidence and reports
- Ensure that investigations are concluded at their natural conclusion and evidence obtained accordingly to support the outcome
- Ensure other agencies are involved in investigations where appropriate
- Ensure a consistent approaches to each investigation, customer and by each investigator
- Take action where weaknesses in the investigation process are identified.
- Provide advice on the direction of investigations
- Provide advice on appropriate sanctions
- Ensure clear audit trails
- Ensure ownership of individual investigations and monitor caseloads
